We are sharing an evangelistic series with David Baron from Aug 1-10. We will be transferring from a tent alongside Hwy 1 to the camp meeting. David Baron will share some presentations on Wed and Thursday mornings as a continuation of the meetings. Larry Kirkpatrick, executive secretary from the NNEC, will share on Friday and Greg Vatistas will share on Sabbath. John Dinzey from Charcoal House will give some presentations and demonstrations during the practical sessions. There will be classes on wilderness survival and security by Joe Poirier. Dan Fickett will be blessing us again this year with some sewing classes. This will be open only to adult women (no children) and they will each be taught how to make a skirt and if time affords a jacket to go with it. Brother Dan asks that all those who want to do this should bring a white blouse/top to camp meeting so they can wear their finished products. Kerry Simpson is slated to share his knowledge in building items. Ashley Cunningham is planning more solar power education. Tammy Smith will be facilitating art experiences. Martin and Debbie Raj will responsible for the youth. There is a canoe trip planned for the youth among other interesting activities, but the water level is low and not much rain is forecasted, so it will likely be cancelled. Stay tuned. Maria Fleming is again going to be providing breakfast and lunch on a donation basis as in prior years. Please sign up to assist. We have upgraded the refrigeration and it is located in the cabin next to the main building that was built last year during camp meeting.
Six duplex cabins have been built along the tree line in the parking lot area and work is continuing on the interior for bunkbeds, windows, doors. A big thank you to Steve Richardson and our local help including Ben Stone. The cabins will be duplexes with insulation between. There are 5 bunks with one of the bunks being a double bunk. Mattresses have been purchased. Every bed has a mattress. Bring your own bedding and towels. No electricity, water, or plumbing will be available in the cabins this summer. Water, electricity, showers, bathrooms are available with a short walk to the main building. The price for one side of the duplex for camp meeting is $100. We were hoping to have singles cabins with a bunk costing $50/camp meeting. At this point, all cabins have been spoken for. “We must have the power of God in our camp meetings, or we shall not be able to prevail against the enemy of souls. Christ says: “Without Me ye can do nothing.” Those who gather at camp meetings must be impressed with the fact that the object of the meetings is to attain to a higher Christian experience, to advance in the knowledge of God, to become strengthened with spiritual vigor; and unless we realize this, the meetings will to us be fruitless.” 6 T 45
Our campmeeting will be located on the property of the Christian Education Center, 100 Lombard Rd, Caribou, ME 04736. The entrance is 1/2 mile north of the Veterans Cemetery and located on the opposite side. Be careful with Internet Maps as their directions may try to get you to enter from back. It is a beautiful location with natural surroundings. It feels and looks like wilderness, but it is only 5 minutes from downtown Caribou. The Christian Education Center is a charitable organization created by SDA members for outreach in Northern Maine. This property encompasses about 60 acres of beautiful private grounds including open fields, evergreen trees, scenic ponds, and gravel roads. It is about 5 minutes from where groceries and supplies can be found in the 2 grocery stores, hardware store, and multiple convenience stores. There is potable water onsite at the pump house. There are many areas for tenting and RV parking (without hookup as the electric hook ups are spoken for). The main building has men’s and women’s bathrooms including showers. There are several hotels/motels in the area (do an internet search). But, they fill up quickly during the summer. If you are considering staying in one, it is recommended that you reserve your room sooner than later. There are also a limited number of airbnbs and vrbos available.
This is the general layout of one side of the cabins. The near portion is a bunk bed. There are a total of 5 beds in each side.

The NNEC camp meeting tent is being repurposed for our evangelism that will take place immediately prior to camp meeting. We will move the evangelistic meetings to camp meeting for the final messages. The tent is set up alongside hwy 1 with lots of traffic going by. I wish we had a Daniel 2 man to stand beside it. BTW…It is much easier to set up than our tent because of its lighter weight. So, we are considering replacing our yellow and white one with this one.
