Greetings Friends,
We are just about 1 month from campmeeting. Campmeeting is scheduled for August 12-16. We are planning on placing signs to make the campground easier to find. Ron Kelly and Dr. Olatunji have agreed to share with us. We are requesting that individuals refrain from applause during the presentations. Agreement with the message can be demonstrated with "amen." David Gates has agreed to help with the youth. Jim Buller will help David with the youth and teach survival skills. Josiah Wannamaker is planning on sharing foraging skills. Kerry Simpson is planning a building project. Others are planning cooking classes. Maria Fleming has again offered her services with the meals. Her cost is about $10/meal. Donations are appreciated but not required. She needs 4 volunteers/meal to assist with preparation and cleanup. Speak to Linda Whiting if you would like to volunteer. Her email is luminouspilgrim@gmail.com and her cellphone number is 828-606-396. Here are some considerations: Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Free materials need to be cleared before distribution. Please be responsive to security personnel requests. For their safety, children are not to be at a the ponds unattended. Tenting sites and motor home parking are widely available and free. Hookups for motor homes are no longer available. Showers and bathrooms are available on site. If you are wanting to stay in a hotel, they are starting to fill. Here is a link to local hotels in order of distance from Caribou. Link. My preference would be Russel's Motel for the price. Link. They currently have 3 rooms available for $399 for 5 nights. If you can't attend in person, we are planning on live-streaming using the services of GMI TV.
"Let all who possibly can, attend these yearly gatherings. Return unto the Lord, gather up the rays of light that have been neglected, comply with the conditions laid down in the Word of God, and then by faith claim the promises. Jesus will be present; and He will give you blessings which all the treasures you possess, be they ever so valuable, would not be rich enough to buy. A strong, clear sense of eternal things, and a heart willing to yield all to Christ, are of inestimable value; in comparison with these the riches, and pleasures, and glories of this world, sink into insignificance."—Manuscript 8, 1882, 3-9.
